The London Marathon is round the corner. Will you look after your back?

The London Marathon is just around the corner. Are you running it? As a leading Staines Chiropractor it is my job to help my patients avoid and recover from back pain.  I also have a lot of patients who are runners and with the big event coming up I thought it would be useful to advice on back pain management.

Preparation to help your back during the race

With most things in life the hard work to achieving a goal goes in long before the glory or as the very famous motto from the Scouts says; ‘Be Prepared’. One of the best bits of advice we can give to you is to prepare your body for the Marathon.

By preparing you can avoid injury and improve your effectiveness as a runner.

You can strengthen your core muscles, you can eat well and hydrate and you can prevent injuries by aligning your body to minimise the impact of running. Finally allow room for plenty of recovery between your training and of course after the race.
