Do Easter the Healthy Way

Easter time is coming and that means you’re pretty much guaranteed all those treats that are a little bit naughty but a whole lot nice! But here at Pure Chiropractic in Staines, we like to add a healthy spin on the chocolate fuelled holiday. (We are chiropractors, after all!)

If you want to give your health a boost this Easter and still get your chocolate fix, here are some great tips:

1: Mix Chocolate with Fruit

What’s the easiest (and most delicious!) way indulge in chocolate and still get some good nutrients in your body? Chocolate covered fruit, of course! Dipping strawberries, grapes or bananas in melted chocolate is our favourite. Mmmm!

 2: Choose Dark Chocolate

This year, try to purchase chocolate that contains 70% cocoa or more. Cocoa can be effective in helping to lower blood pressure and is thought to help reduce the risk of heart disease. You see, chocolate can be good for us, after all!

3: Jazz Up Your Carrots

Okay, so carrots are not quite as mouth-watering as all those giant chocolate eggs perched on your kitchen units, but if they’re good enough for the Easter Bunny, then they’re good enough for us! Give carrots that Easter touch by wrapping them in ribbon and adding them to your Easter baskets. You could even play the “carrot and egg” game; whoever eats ten carrot slices wins an extra Easter egg. Let your imagination run wild!

Have a happy and healthy Easter!
