Modern life is full of technology. We use it every day. From the car you drive to phone in your pocket. We are connected to technology more than ever before and it has changed the way we do things. The chances are very high we are always with our mobile phone and everywhere we go you will see people using their devices.
Whilst we get a lot of benefits from using modern technology and in particular our mobile devices, there are downsides. Have you ever noticed any headaches caused by looking at the screen too much or significantly any back pain?
As a busy Staines Chiropractor I come across many cases of back pain caused by poor posture and one of my roles in Pure Staines Chiropractor is to give advice to clients on how to avoid stress in your back, neck and shoulders. My advice to you is to;
• Avoid hunching over your phone – Poor posture leads to back pain, maintain a good posture whilst texting to avoid this.
• Sit upright with your head directly over your body – Your head is heavy and letting it drop too much can cause a lot of strain on your neck and back.
• Make sure you keep stretching and keep loose.
• Avoid using your phone for long periods of time – Move around, loosen up and give your body a break every 40 minutes or so.
Back pain can have serious effects on your quality of life. With mobile devices playing an increasingly bigger part in day to day life it is important you consider the tips above to avoid back pain can.
